Coffee based cocktail that gives you high of both worlds đŸ™‚
Espresso martini or coffee martini is one of the most popular orders at any bar from a long time now.
I’ve shared recipes of various other cocktails, here are some of those apple martini, classic margarita, strawberry margarita, grapefruit margarita, or you can check list of other cocktails at crafty cocktails link on home page.
Fun fact: It’s just named espresso martini but does not have gin or vermouth but is based on vodka and coffee liqueur. Coffee liqueur popularly used is Kahlua, delicious espresso liqueur. Other important alcohol is vodka, you can use any vodka you prefer, I’ve used Absolut Vodka.
Although these two ingredients are also enough for a good cocktail, lot of people prefer it stronger and add a shot of good quality espresso for better flavor. If you wish to add espresso shot in your cocktail, I would suggest adding a dash of simple syrup to maintain the sweetness of the drink.

RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
- Vodka: 3 cl
- Kahlua: 3 cl
- Ice
- coffee beans to garnish
METHOD:
- Chill a martini glass
- In a shaker, add kahlua and vodka. Add lots of crushed ice.
- Give it a real long shake to make a nice frost on top.
- Strain in chilled martini glass
- Garnish with coffee beans and serve!
I recommend using lots of crushed ice to get a nice smooth froth on top as it gives smooth finish to the drink in garnishing.
A really nice cocktail !!!
