Tzatziki Dip| Cucumber and dill yogurt dip

A quick yet delicious fix for a last minute party plans

This is one of my quickest, simplest and im-promptu recipe. I made it first for a dinner party and it was a real hit. being a Greek/ Mediterranean recipe, it goes well with pita bread in addition to other breads and crackers.

Basic recipe has greek yogurt/ strained and drained full fat yogurt (preferably home made) mixed with cucumber, garlic olive oil and a herb like dill or cilantro or even mint although the most popular version is the one with dill and that’s the one we are making here. It’s one of the most important part of any Mediterranean platter.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • Greek yogurt: 2 cups
  • Cucumber (chopped): 1
  • Garlic (chopped): 2
  • Dill chopped): handful
  • Olive oil: 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
  • salt and pepper: to taste
  • Lemon zest: to garnish

METHOD:

  • Take Greek yogurt in mixing bowl. Add cucumber, garlic and chopped dill and mix.
  • Add Lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and mix.
  • Serve in a clean serving bowl, garnish with some more dill and lemon zest and serve!
