This was my complete breakfast last Sunday and trust me it took lesser time to finish this delectable thing than to make it!
This is a very simple twist to rather casual french toast. Stuffing usual french toast not only makes is more delicious but also make it more filling. You can change the filling as per your choice. I chose some berries and cream cheese to make it both healthy and filling. You can stuff any other fruit or Greek yogurt or even ice cream.
I used plain white bread, you can pick your favorite bread. I’ve added brown auger in cream cheese filling, you can also use white sugar or skip it of you don’t want it. You can later add honey over it.
Here’s the recipe for you guys:
INGREDIENTS:
Bread Slices: 4
Eggs: 3
Milk: 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence: 1 Tsp
Cinnamon powder: 1/2 Tsp
Salt: a pinch
Cream cheese: 2 Tbsp
Brown sugar: 1 Tbsp (or as per taste)
Berries: few strawberries, raspberries and black berries (or any other berry of you choice)
Butter: 2 Tbsp
Dusting sugar/ honey
METHOD
Take eggs and whisk them nicely for few minutes.
Now add milk and whisk again for few minutes.
Add vanilla essence, pinch of salt and cinnamon powder, mix well and keep the mixture aside.
Take cream cheese and mix it to make it smooth. Add sugar and mix it.
Take 2 bread slices and apply cream cheese mixture over it.
Place the sliced berries on it and cover it with other 2 slices.
Use a fork to press seal the edges.
Place the sandwiches in egg mixture and let it soak on one side for a minute. Turn it over and let it sit on other side in egg mixture for another minute.
Heat a pan and throw in 1 Tbsp butter.
Place the egg dipped sandwiched in the pan and let it cook for 2-3 minute, till golden brown on both sides.
Drizzle some honey over it or dust some powdered sugar and serve hot with some fresh berries and fresh whipped cream!
Looks yummy 🙂
