Gorgeous, nourishing and super easy home made Lotion Bars!!

Those beauties are not the regular soap bars or a chocolate bar (though they look so tempting, aren’t they!). These are the result of my latest experiment: super nourishing body lotion bars, yes a lotion bar! I first made it as a gift for my friend but was so tempted by its properties and uses that immediately made another batch for myself. When I first showed it to my husband, he couldn’t believe that it can be a lotion, but when I applied it on his arms he was so surprised with its results ( and proud of his wife’s creation).

They are super easy to make and so nourishing that your skin is going to thank you a ton for it. Best part is, it can be your mess-free travel buddy. No need to buy those expensive travel size kits and still worry about spill and mess from an loose lotion bottle.

Here’s the recipe for it:

INGREDIENTS:

Shea Butter: 1/2 Cup

Coconut Oil: 1 Cup

Beeswax: 1/2 Cup

Lavender essential oil: 20 drops

dried lavender

dried rose buds

METHOD:

Melt shea butter and beeswax in a double boiler (try not to heat it above 40degrees). Remove from heat once melted as shea butter loses its properties if over heated. Add coconut oil and mix. Add essential oil. Add dried flowers (optional). Pour the solution in mold and let it cool and become firm. If you’re impatient (like me) put them in fridge (not freezer) to speed up the cooling process. Make sure they are cooled completely and firm before removing them from the molds. And Voila!! your super nourishing lotion bars are ready to use. Pack them in pretty packets or ribbons and they are best gifts for any occasion.

Do try the recipe (trust me, you’ll love it) and let me know how it goes!!
